Botanischer Garten

Berlin, May 2025

Strolling around Berlin Botanischer Garten, I pondered the vegetation hidden away from the human trails and accompanying glances of appreciation. They breathe there in quiet vitality, not expecting our gawking faces to turn in their direction. In stark contrast, elaborate ploys to find our gaze line the footpaths we visitors, spectators, pace: intricate natural geometry - tessellations and fractal patterns - and neon colours so bright they almost blind. But to think in terms of sights is to limit our sensory world - one that calls for our attention in the sweet smells hanging in humid air, and sounds of bees and birds and a stream near by. A cacophony of life.
