Hope is a thing that flutters

There are lots of things I want to post on this blog - inspiration seems to fill every corner of the world, and the more I look the more I see. Yet, at the same time, I must resist the urge to perceive life as a series of tasks to be done. I want to live, or experiencing living, beyond sequence.

One moment that cannot go without a post, however, is this beautiful butterfly that landed on our cactus sometime in mid-March. Such a calm and magical creature. I couldn't help but be reminded of another moment, two summers ago in New York, when a butterfly flew onto the subway.

'Hope is a thing with feathers' as Emily Dickens wrote; might, I wonder, it be a fluttering one too?
