On culture and understanding

It was very interesting to me how a friend perceived the nudity of a man at a lake on the outskirts of Berlin. It's a very British attitude to think there are some things - namely bodies - to be kept private. The taboo of form, rawness and physicality. England values respect through its stoicism; Germany does so through the affirmation of freedom.
